Funerals

St Albans Uniting is an inclusive congregation that seeks to be Christ in the community with no strings attached. Therefore as well as conducting funerals as part of the ongoing care of its members the minister and the parish also feel it their duty and privilege to offer their expertise and facilities to anyone at a time of grief and loss. As well as conducting funerals for any member of the wider community the minister also conducts funerals in other locations when required.

The minster, can offer help with a basic framework and advice for a funeral service but sees it as important that the bereaved family have significant input into the service. What is most important is that friends and family are able to celebrate the life that has ended in a way that is relevant to the deceased and the family. Our Ministers understand that a time of loss is difficult and a number of family members may wish to express their views on the best ways to celebrate the life of a loved one so he always listens with patience and empathy but also assumes the responsibility of making sure everything will happen with order and dignity once the service begins.

The minister of St Albans Uniting understands the need to be available at short notice to meet with a bereaved family and can be contacted at the church office, phone 385 7545. If the phone is unattended it normally transfers to the ministers cell phone.
