Our church is blessed to be led by two dedicated ministers, who bring years of pastoral experience and a shared heart for our community. Together, they guide our congregation in worship, teaching, and care for one another. We’re grateful for their leadership and commitment to serving God and this church family.

It is a privilege to be serving in ministry with Alan in this parish.
I am married to Anthea and St Albans is our home church. We feel truly blessed to be parents and grand-parents – family life is important to us.
I have been a Presbyterian Minister since 1989 and served full-time in that role for twenty years. In 2010, I became a Christchurch City Councillor and served in that role for nine years, which of course took in the Canterbury earthquake sequence and the rebuild of the city.
Now, I serve in quarter-time ministry in our home church, sit on the Rata Foundation, the Little Company of Mary, the Epilepsy New Zealand and Christian World Service boards and run my own coaching business. I am a chartered member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and have a Graduate Diploma in Professional Coaching.
I keep fit through various sports and this helps me in my work. I am enjoying being in ministry and mission in our home church and looking forward to it continuing to develop.

I have several degrees but connect with people from all social and educational backgrounds. I grew up in Wellington and attended a Brethren assembly.
I worked as a scientist with Chemistry Division, DSIR, before becoming a Baptist pastor at the age of 33. I was involved with Baptist Churches in Lower Hutt, Waikanae, and Tawa before moving to Cromwell and becoming a Presbyterian minister in 2002.
After moving to Rangiora in 2008 and then retiring from fulltime ministry in 2017, I have had part-time ministries in Kaikoura and North Canterbury before becoming Interim Moderator with St Albans Uniting Church. I am passionate about preaching and pastoral care!
I particularly enjoy working together with Glenn, as we are both committed to pastoral visitation and contact.
I have had two lovely wives (both died from cancer) and have four daughters and two stepsons.I am close to them all. I am due to get remarried in early December to Gaylene Bleakley (Glenn will officiate!). Gaylene and I both enjoy walking, pets, gardening, reading, watching movies, and travelling within NZ and overseas.
